Kanturk Golf Club
Kanturk Golf Club is a challenging golf course, where accuracy is important, and is located about 2 miles from the town and 3 miles from the Ballymacquirke Cross.
The course was established in 1972 by a group of local businessmen with Richard Barry, a well recognized local GUI member designing a 9 hole layout initially.
It was designed through a voluntary labor scheme and the founding members landscaped and developed the course and was expanded to a full 18 hole layout in 1994.
Kanturk golf course is situated in a picturesque region with impressive views of Mount Hilary and the neighboring countryside.
It can be a demanding course and requires precision from the tee and good play of irons because the greens are small and not easy to hit as a rule.
Golfers who want to enjoy a good game of golf in beautiful and serene surroundings must visit this golf course with it’s backdrop of mountain and magnificent views.
