Raffeen Creek Golf Club
Raffeen Creek Golf Club is situated just a mile from the Ringaskiddy Ferry in County Cork. It is a very unique course as it is a cross between seaside and parkland courses.
It has been designed by the well known golf architect Eddie Hackett in 1988, on the land owned by the Pfizer group on the coast of Monkstown Creek.
Raffeen Creek is a 9-hole short but is a difficult course and a test for the best of golfers.
Water plays a very important role and is a part of the play at the back of the 2nd, 4th the 8th which is a dogleg left.
The tee shot on the 8th is over water as well as on the left and you need to hit an accurate shot to miss a watery grave for your ball.
The characteristic hole is the 9th as there is water all the way to the lofty green with a sharp bank behind it.
A lot of work has been done on the course since its conception.
Raffeen Creek Golf Club is a golf course where you can't do anything else but have fun playing a round of golf.
