Donegal Golf Club

Donegal Golf Club is commonly referred to as Murvagh due to it`s location on the stunning Murvagh Peninsula in Donegal Bay and is only 10 km from Donegal.

With the courses position it is vulnerable to vicious ocean winds; this course is a challenge and a test of skill and is one of the premium links courses in Irish golf.

It is all one would want in a golf course, taxing, stimulating, surprising and delightfully inviting despite your level of golf skill.

There are great views of the Blue Stack Mountains and a wide variety of holes to enjoy during your round.

The course at Murvagh is 7,160 yards, par 73 and winds its way through 180 acres of sand hills and carefully maintained fairways and greens.

The course is designed in two loops of nine each and the fairways find their way along the dunes of Atlantic and the lush grass of the bay. The ocean breeze always comes in to play and it is a wonderful place for long hitters of the ball and is a challenging course for all golfers.

The par 3 5th is also known as the ‘The Valley of Tears’ very aptly named as it proves to be just that for some golfers.

According to Eddie Hackett the designer of the course “I found that nature is the best architect, I just dress up what the Good Lord provides".
