Portsalon Golf Club

Portsalon Golf Club is about 30 km to the North of Letterkenny and is situated adjoining the Portsalon Golf Hotel. It is an enjoyable 18 holes links course measuring 6,472 yards in length.

The remarkable features of the course are the naturally craggy fairways and the lush progressing greens.

Yielding sand bunkers, extensive natural greens and winding streams present a demanding and stimulating golf on a links soaked in history.

The golf course stretches beside Portsalon beach on the shoreline of Lough Swilly with the narrow well designed fairways meandering through deep dunes.

The three golden beaches of Balymastocker Bay lie on one side of this magnificent traditional links, designed by Pat Ruddy in 1890.

Its most striking features are the classically wrinkled fairways and rolling greens.

The fairways are open to nature as it is designed at the edge of Fanad peninsula; the wind blows hard which makes the course tricky and accuracy of shots becomes a precondition.
