Clontarf Golf Club

Clontarf Golf Club is regarded as one of the best golf clubs in Ireland. Harry Colt designed, this beautiful, 18 holes golf course and is a place no golf lover should miss.

Founded in 1912, the fascinating north Dublin club is proud of its well manicured rolling fairways and exceptional greens. The golf course is like a breather on the doorsteps of a crowded metropolis.

The course is not too long but you have to play disciplined and accurate tee shots to master its narrow fairways. To come up with a good score your club selection will play an important part which must be complimented with your golfing skills.

But the golf course is known best for its prominent 12th hole, which is par 4 and was re-modeled in 1998 by the course architect, late Tom Craddock.

The people here call it the 'The Quarry Hole'. The drive begins from the tee onto a high plateau which borders the out of bounds on the right side. The next short has to be played into the green in a valley, which was an old quarry.

You will have to tackle two ponds and two greenside bunkers on the way.

The overall golfing experience at Clontarf will leave enduring and satisfying memories.
