The Royal Dublin Golf Club

The Royal Dublin is situated on an island in Dublin Bay, it is a private members club and it is like having a links golf course on the city’s doorstep.

It was initially designed by the renowned architect, Harry Colt in 2006 and is a great challenge of golf and an enjoyable round.

The last part of this development was done under the supervision of Martin Hawtree.

The golf course has seen great improvement with a sweeping redesign of the 6th, 7th and 8th holes, and within three years Hawtree has managed to attune the structural design of each hole.

All the greens have been elevated which adds to the beauty and the contour of the course.

If you check on the back nine, new tee, bunkers and an all new green set up is done just across a dyke, which makes the 10th a test of precision and length.

The advance to a new 11th green is a characteristic links challenge… any wrong move and you will meet a sandy fate.
