Connemara Golf Club

Connemara Golf Club is situated in the heart Connemara, 11 km from Clifton with the course sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Twelve Bens Mountains, making it a stunning course location.

The golf club was founded in 1973 with Eddie Hackett, a renowned architect, designing the golf course on a rugged terrain.

He acknowledged the spectacular beauty of the course, especially the back nine, is primarily due to the terrain.

In 2000, Connemara was expanded and now offers 27 holes.

The par 5 18th hole is a real test of nerves with a green that is not only difficult to hit, it is also guarded by four pot bunkers.

On the new 9 holes, the third hole is quite a challenging par 4. The drive must be very accurately placed, because there are more water hazards here than any other hole.

Driving to Connemara Golf Club is a treat of its own due to the exquisite landscape. You may want to take a side trip to the quaint village of Roundstone near by.

The club has a restaurant, full bar, and all the necessary rentals available, even caddies with reasonable fees.
