Portumna Golf Club

Portumna Golf Club is a charming parkland course in Portumna with its proximity to woodlands and rivers near Lough Derg, the largest lake on the Shannon River, it is a beautiful place to tee it up.

The golf course has mature trees that serve as a beautiful backdrop, as well as, natural hazards.

Portumna golf course offers a challenging game for any golf enthusiast any day of the year.

The golf club was established in 1913 by Michael O'Keeffe who designed the course. In 1935, a pavilion, which was made of timber, was also added and around twenty years later, the golf club was moved to its current location, which was rented from Clarickard Estate.

A modern clubhouse was added in the 1970s.
The first three holes can be tough and challenge your scorecard early on; there are two par 4s that are separated by a par 3.

The par 5 sixth is an excellent golf hole and hard to reach even with two great shots.

Portumna is considered one of the best parkland golf courses in Ireland.
