Tralee Golf Club
Tralee Golf Club is the first course designed by Famous American golfer Arnold Palmer in the British Isles and is situated on Barrow Point which is around 8 miles west of Tralee.
It was founded in 1896 and has some intriguing ruins on the course.
The sandy and permeable soil has given way to a links style course that can be enjoyed all the year round.
Barrow Point has a few very high dunes, wide white beaches, inlets and some of the most breathtaking panorama of Mountains and Ocean you will see in Ireland.
The front part of the course has the company of a Norman tower in back of the 3rd green with a view of the castle ruins through an ocean creek.
There are a few holes on the back 9 which are excellent with their altitude changes and fascinating views of the dunes.
There are four sets of tees extending from 5,550 to 7,187 yards and the course plays to a 72 par.
You will come across the dogleg right 2nd along the beach after a very long and straight par 4 opener.
It cannot be said to be a very tough course on a number of holes and it is possible to miss a hit and still score well.
