Kilkenny Golf Club
Kilkenny Golf Club is one of Ireland’s most enjoyable inland golf courses and is becoming more challenging every year with the lush growth of the trees which were planted years ago.
It is a championship par 71 golf course and is set on 120 acres of parkland.
It is kept in the best condition through out the year and hosts a number of golf tournaments. Kilkenny Golf Course is basically a flat terrain course with a profusion of trees.
Prominent features of the course are its four par threes, the eleventh hole is a long par four and the tricky final four holes, which can easily spoil your scorecard.
There is a special element at the 10th tee, the "Fluacht Fiadh", which is an ancient Irish kitchen. It is an ancient structure and dates back to the Bronze Age.
The course is now proud of 18 holes with rolling greens on a sandy base which can be played through out the year.
It has improved immensely and the golf course is a challenge to all golfers.
