Castlebar Golf Club
Castlebar Golf Club is located on the West coast of Ireland and was established in 1910 and is one of the oldest golf courses in this part of the country. The course was renovated in 2000-01 and has become even better since then.
It is a brilliant 18 hole parkland course in an attractive setting amongst mature Chestnut, Beech and Oak trees.
The greens are maintained to unrivalled standard and can be played all the year round.
It is not very long as per modern standards but its tactically placed hazards and numerous trees make it an enjoyable course.
The course which opened to play after its most recent redesign was to the credit of Walker Cup Captain, Peter McEvoy.
This has brought Castlebar to par with the best parkland golf courses in Ireland.
It was ranked among the top 100 Irish Golf Courses in Golf Digest and offers a fair challenge to all levels of golfers.
Castlebar Golf Club has a well maintained clubhouse catering to everyone’s culinary and refreshment needs.
