Swinford Golf Club
Swinford Golf Club is situated in the South of Swinford, off Kiltimagh road, in the Eastern part of County Mayo. This 9 hole enjoyable parkland course was established in 1910.
The course is designed in attractive surroundings and has a very relaxed ambience.
The course is maintained to impeccable condition and can be a true test for all levels of golfers.
It remains a favorite with the local people despite a number of other golf clubs in the area
It is an achievement if you can play to your handicap here as Swinford is well known for the speedy greens, tactically placed bunkers and well positioned tees.
It can be tricky to play some of the approach shots and you have to be accurate to enjoy your round of golf here.
A new course was redesigned around 1930 by Major Benson of Rosses Point.
The unique feature of this new design is the elevated tees and was a matter of discussion for a number of golfers at Swinford Golf Club.
