Westport Golf Club
Westport Golf Club is situated in the foothills of Croagh Patrick, the Holy Mountain of Ireland, amongst the most spectacular scenery and was established in 1908.
The Course has moved to three separate sites before settling down on this location at Carrowholly in 1973.
This 18 hole par 72 course has been rated as one of the premium golf courses in Ireland.
Westport Golf Club is the finest parkland golf course in the West of Ireland.
Westport Golf Club has been designed by famous golf architect Fred Hawtree on 260 acres of undulating parkland on the shoreline of Clew Bay.
The club has been host to the Ladies Home Internationals in 1989 and the Irish Amateur Close Championship on three occasions, most recently in 1997.
It is also well known for its warmth and hospitability.
Hawtree was very pleased with his work and rated the course as ‘uniquely attractive and memorable.’ It is a challenging parkland course offering a testing game for golfers of all handicaps.
Playing here is an outstanding golfing experience.
The city of Westport has a unique character, and is also considered a prime tourist destination in Ireland.
