Castlerea Golf Club
Castlerea Golf Club is located very near to the town on the N60. It is a splendid 9 hole course which is designed along the River Suck and was established in 1905.
The magnificent trees with strategically placed bunkers and the natural parkland are an essential part of this wonderful course. All these add to the challenge of playing a round of golf here.
Playing at Castlerea Golf Club is an enjoyable experience. The course begins with a long par four and every hole has its own characteristics with the third being a long par five.
You will come across a water hazard on the left with bunkers around the big green on the short par 4 fourth.
You will have to battle the bunkers and the trees on the uphill seventh and find the 8th longest with an unusual green.
The ancestral home of the O’Connor family can be seen from the 9th tee. It is an intimidating par five as you have to hit a big tee shot to get in the right position on the green which has some bunkers waiting for you.
Castlerea Golf Club is a great course to play in and you will have an enjoyable time.
