Roscommon Golf Club
Roscommon Golf Club is about 95 miles from Dublin and just half a mile South of Roscommon town. It was established way back in 1904 as a 9 hole course and was extended to 18 holes in 1996.
This course offers a magnificent golf experience as the ambience portrays the venerable tradition and not the modernity of Ireland’s parkland courses.
It has abundant parkland with rows of ash, sycamore, beech and whitethorn trees.
Eddie Connaughton the eminent golf course architect designed the course using his ingenuity to create a brilliant layout which provides a tough and demanding test of golf.
With long challenging par 4's and short tricky par 3's it provides thrilling golf for all handicappers.
The best holes on the course are par 3 ninth the thirteenth and the long par 4 eighteenth hole which is right in front of the clubhouse.
Roscommon Golf Club had a fire in 1995 which ruined the clubhouse but a new facility has been built with modern large bar and restaurant overlooking the first and 18th holes.
