Thurles Golf Club
Thurles Golf Club is situated in the heart of lush countryside of County Tipperary about one mile from town centre on the Cork Road. It offers spectacular views of the neighboring area.
It was opened to play in 1909 as a parkland course with a generally even topography, exceptional greens and extensive fairways. You will find the rough abundant and holding.
The course is well secluded, but it is separated into two by a main road with nine holes on either side.
Thurles Golf Club is well-known for the complexity of its tricky and demanding holes.
Mel Flanagan the well known golf architect has developed a new design for the first nine to make them more engaging. Lionel Hewson had earlier designed the course.
The back nine holes on the course are especially remarkable. The golfers playing here will find it difficult to forget the par 3 holes in particular.
Thurles Golf Club offers other facilities like sauna, squash courts and a gymnasium for the visitors as well as members.
