Glasson Golf Club
Glasson Golf Club is one of the country's finest golf courses and is situated about 6 miles north of Athlone and only just 1½ hour drive from Dublin.
Glasson golf course has rightly got the status of being one of the most demanding but very picturesque courses in Ireland and has been designed by the famous Ryder Cup star, Christy O’Connor Jnr.
You can tee off for a peaceful round of golf, all the way soaking in the ambience of the place while testing your game.
The long hitters will enjoy this course as the course demands that.
The course is 7,215 yards from the back of the championship tees and plays to a par of 72.
A number of regional and international tournaments have been played here since its inauguration in 1993 such as The European Challenge Tour in August 2007.
The spectacular views over Killenure Bay makes a round of golf at Glasson an experience which is difficult to forget in a hurry.
