PGA Catalunya Golf Course
PGA Catalunya golf course is situated at Caldes de Malavella, in Costa Brava and is just about 45 minutes from Girona airport. This Angel Gallardo and Neil Coles designed golf course opened for play in 1999.
They have designed two courses, the Stadium Course and the Tour Course which offer maximum degree of enjoyment at each hole.
The design is its best feature and it has been developed on uneven and forested area. Even though a very technical courses it is a wonderful experience for professionals as well as amateurs to play a round of golf here.
Golf World magazine has voted the course as amongst the ten best golf courses in Europe in Costa Brava and the writer Steve Carr has described it as the 'jewel in the crown'. The climate and the ambience of the region is an added advantage to enjoying golf here all the year round.
The course has a spectacular backdrop with the Pyrenees in the background adding to the magic. It has hosted the Spanish Open in 2000 and Sarazen World Open in 1999 and is the only golf course to hold two important European Tour events just in the first 10 months of inauguration.
The PGA Catalunya has a renevated and a new extended clubhouse and has all the facilities and services expected from a prestigious course.
