Calanova Golf Course is one of the newest courses on the coast but already is a well established course with golfers enjoying some great views.
Calanova has been designed using its natural surroundings beautifully and so that the medium handicapped players will find it a pleasure, yet challenging.
There are strategically placed bunkers and lakes on the varied fairway layouts and many unusually shaped greens.
Calanova is always a challenge to score well as many of the holes offer slopes that can trick you and bounce you of line.
This course is a great addition to the Costa del Sol and with its green and tranquil setting, just 5 minutes from La Cala village, is a joy to play.

Calanova Golfer Reviews
Calanova have included buggies which is a good idea as some of the green to tee can be a long walk. It can sometimes be windy but Calanova is suitable for all levels.

Calanova Golf Course, La Cala is perfectly positioned in the hills of La Cala and is a noteworthy addition to the handful of courses making up the La Cala/Mijas areas new ´Golf Valley´.
There are half a dozen courses and two luxury hotels in this 5,600 acre green zone, with six more courses to come. It is a golf haven that will soon have the highest concentration of golf courses anywhere on the Costa del Sol, an ideal location just a short drive from Malaga airport, ten minutes from Marbella and next to La Cala village which was once a small fishing village and though it retains much of its Spanish character, it is now a busy holiday destination.

Calanova Golf Course 18 Hole Guide.
Hole 1: Par 5 dogleg to the left where the tee shot is over a lake. The best line is middle to left but beware out of bounds on the left side. There are fairway bunker on the right and the green slopes away at the back.
Hole 2: Sharp dog leg to the right but don’t play to close to the right side otherwise you will be blind to the green. Bunkers are along the left side. The green has one bunker protecting.
