The Front 9 Holes of Sotogrande Golf Course

Hole 1: Drive down the center short of the right sided lake. The shot to the green needs an extra club due to being elevated. The green is usually quick especially left and at the back.

Hole 2: This is an enjoyable par 5 where the tee shot best position is left of then fairway bunker. The fairway slopes to the left so play up the right side. The green is small and at the top of a slope.

Hole 3: A short but tricky par 4. The tee shot needs to be short of the fairway bunkers and the shot to the green precise as chipping on from behind this clover shape green is difficult.

Hole 4: An uphill par 3 needing a good shot and a couple clubs more.

Hole 5: There is out of bounds on the left and the right of this dogleg left. Drive to the center but not too long as there is a slope which makes the second shot harder. Don’t miss the green to the right and anything behind the flag is a tricky put.

Hole 6: Out of bounds to the left and a dogleg to the right of this par 5 hole. Play as tight to the corner as your distance will allow. The second shot is down the middle between two fairway bunkers and third to the green.

Hole 7: Out of bounds to the left and dogleg to the left on this beautiful and one of the best holes. Drive to the center right and then play the second shot to the left side of the green. The Green is narrow and well guarded and slopes to the right. There is a lake down the right side.

Hole 8: Another uphill par three where there are many tricky slopes on the green. Short of the flag is the best position for an uphill put.

Hole 9: Out of bounds on the left and a slight dogleg to the right. Down the middle with both shots to a green well protected with bunkers and again anything past will be a downhill put.

The Back 9 Holes of Sotogrande Golf Course

Hole 10: Out of bounds to the right and the maintenance area on the left. The hole is a dogleg to the right, 210 will carry the corner trees. A chip or a short iron to a fairly flat green is all that is needed.

Hole 11: Out of bounds to the left of a wide fairway where the tee shot should be down the right side. The green is elevated and downhill from the back.

Hole 12: The fairway is wide again on this par 5 although out of bounds is to the left and water the right. There fairway slopes towards the water so play center right until the green. Don’t be long as there is out of bounds behind.

Hole 13: 166 m Par 3 where there is water to the right and behind the green and a bunker protecting the left.

Hole 14: Par 5 with out of bounds on the left. Play down the right as approaching the green from the right will offer an easier entry to the narrow two tiered green. Don’t be long if the flag is on the lower part.

Hole 15: Out of bounds on the left and right for the first 200 meters. Center for the tee shot then slightly left of the flag as the green slopes to the left.

Hole 16: Out of bounds on the left. Play your tee shot down the middle and then to the flat green. Beware the water to the right of the green.

Hole 17: Only 142 Meters Par 3 but the green is surrounded by water.

Hole 18: Slightly uphill for the last hole. It is long and has a wide fairway to enjoy and two good shots will see you on the green, protected by a couple of bunkers.
