The Front 9 Holes of Poniente Golf Course
Hole 1: This is a fairly straight forward par 4 hole. The tee shot is best played to the middle to right of the fairway for the easiest approach shot to the green. There is a bunker on the right of the fairway and also the front right and back left of the green
Hole 2: This par 5 hole is slightly downhill and 500m of the yellow tees. It is a slight dog leg to the left and the green is protected by three bunkers. There is also a bunker 50m short of the green on the left which you must consider when taking your second shot.
Hole 3: Par 4 and 380m from the yellow tees this is a lovely hole. There are two bunkers on the right of the fairway which is a 210 carry to cut the corner. Or play up the middle and play a distance of around 170 for the second shot onto a two bunkered protected green.
Hole 4: 360m par 4 hole where the shots a straight forward but the green is tucked away in some trees and a bunker protecting any pushed shots.
Hole 5: Par 5 hole dogleg to the right. The tee shot is straight up the middle and then the second is best to be middle to right side as there is a fairway bunker on the left. The green is sloping to the right and has two bunkers at the back.
Hole 6: Straight forward par 3 185m except the green is surrounded by bunkers.
Hole 7: This is a dogleg to the left where the trees make it hard not to play a tee shot straight down the middle however, there are two well placed bunkers waiting. The green is undulating and has a bunker front left and back right.
Hole 8: This hole is downhill and straight with the fairway undulating and sloping off to the right. The green has two bunkers on the left
Hole 9: A downhill par 3 with a lake to play over and a green with three bunkers.
The Back 9 Holes of Poniente Golf Course
Hole 10: This hole is a beautiful hole which is a dogleg to the right. There are two lakes on the right one on the corner and one by the green. The tee shot should be up the middle, however, there are two bunkers at the far side of the fairway catching any long shots.
Hole 11: Fairly straight par 5 again with two lakes the first on the right will catch any pushed second shots and the second is in front of the green. The green is quiet small with a bunker at the back and it slopes away.
Hole 12: A long par 3 which is stroke index 3. There is a lake to the right and slightly in front of the green as well as a line of trees; there is room on the left. Behind the green it slopes away and there is a bunker to catch over hit shots.
Hole 13: This hole turns to the right and has two bunkers on the right if your tee shot is too direct. The green has three bunkers protecting it.
Hole 14: A straight open hole. There is plenty of fairway so the left bunker should be avoided and the bunkers around the green are not too tight, there is room to play with.
Hole 15: The second easiest hole on the course, a short par 3 where there are some trees on the left and right making this a lovely hole.
Hole 16: An undulating fairway where it slopes away to the right and at the back of the green. It is only 340m long so a straight tee shot will set you up for a short approach iron to a green with bunkers either side.
Hole 17: There is a bunker on the left and the ground slopes away on the fairway but just over this is the ideal position for the second shot. There are two big bunkers on the right before the green and two smaller bunkers beside the green.
Hole 18: An undulating par 5 to finish with. The ideal tee shot and second shot is down the left for a straight approach to the green which has two bunkers front and right.
