Carya Golf Club is situated at Belek at Antalya and is the first classic, heath land golf course of the Mediterranean coast in Turkey and was designed by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson.
Peter Thomson was inspired by the traditional old English style heath land courses such as Wentworth and The Berkshire outside of London.
It is a championship golf course laid on rolling sand hills and cuts across the magnificent eucalyptus and pine woodland in the heart of the golf coast of Turkey.
Almost one million heather plants have been planted to strengthen the existing heath land environment while building the Golf Course.
According to Peter Thomson this piece of land was exceptional for building a golf course.
It is evocative of the well-known Surrey heath land courses near London which are among the best in the world.
Carya is a classic traditional style course and this brilliant course is a challenging test of golfing strategy, as the holes flow freely amid pine and eucalyptus trees and across a spectacular sand ridge.
Carya Golf Club also has an impressive new clubhouse and a well designed and maintained driving range.
